Mixed Numbers lesson

Quick recap: Think back to before spring break when we began discussing mixed numbers.

Mixed numbers are a combination of a whole number and a fraction (see the image below). 



I started off with a whole number (3 -- the yellow sticky note) and added a fraction 3/4 (the blue sticky note).
In the last green sticky note, I combined the 3 wholes and 3/4 of the circle.

The result is a mixed number:  3  3/4
