3G Google Classroom, our virtual classroom, and the blog

3G Google Classroom:  (app)
An invitation has been sent to each students' school Gmail account. If for some reason you didn't receive the email, you can use our classroom code: 5acnf5x

This code is for Google Classroom (there is a free app you can download). We will be using Classroom, especially if we ever have to move to virtual learning, which hopefully we won't.

Classroom will have assignments and messages regarding lessons and work we're doing in class. This is a student account. Parents will not have access to it, except through their child's account.
If your child is learning remotely, you will definitely need access to Classroom.
This is my first year to use Classroom, so it's purpose may evolve as we move forward.

Next is our virtual classroom (Google Slide which is posted in Classroom and on the blog), which is where I have links to  resources that will reinforce our learning in 3rd grade. I'll update the white board every week or so.

Classroom and the Virtual Classroom are private.

And finally, we have the blog (web-based). I will post homework, reminders, pictures, videos, and resources here. This is public, so feel free to share it with family and friends. The blog is essentially your window into our classroom.

If you have any question, please email me at annmarie.ghio@sascolts.org.

  • You will go to your child's classroom and meet with their homeroom teacher.
  • Please bring your child's school supplies at this time as well.

Third graders will need to label their spirals and folders:
Spirals:

Folders:

Make sure your child’s name is on their shoes and uniforms, too, especially the sweaters and pullovers.

I know it’s disappointing not to be able to walk your child in, but I promise they are in good hands. If you’d like a first day photo of your child at his/her desk, let me know. I’d be happy to take one and email it to you.

There is more information in the email that was sent to parents. If you did not receive it, please let me know: Annmarie.ghio@sascolts.org

Let's test it out

The virtual classroom is ready for you! You can click the images in the classroom, and they will take you to resources we'll be using 3rd grade.

I have sent an email invitation to all my  students using their school accounts. Once you accept, you should have access to our Google Classroom and the virtual classroom.

If you have any issues, let me know. I'm learning, too.

Cleaners and hand sanitizer

I know Lysol wipes and hand sanitizer are hard to find, but I wanted to let you all know that I found these items. The cleaner was at Target today, and the spray hand sanitizer was at Trader Joe’s on Sunday. The small bottles are from Dollar Tree.

If you can find the mini bottles, that’s fine. Your child can keep it at his/her desk. It’s probably best to buy a few. We’ll be going to the bathroom before we eat snack and lunch, plus a couple of other times, so they won’t need the sanitizer every day.

As for the Lysol wipes, you can purchase a cleaner as long as it disinfects with bleach or alcohol. I will only use these cleaners when I disinfect after school since they take longer to dry and may have to be diluted. I’ll be using gloves and paper towels for the cleaners.

Lysol wipes are best for after snack and during school.

Note: Any household cleaner containing bleach or at least 70 percent alcohol should kill SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Mr. Clean does NOT have bleach or alcohol, but will be good for Friday afternoon cleanings. Be sure to read the label before buying.

Good luck and be well!
