Happy Birthday, EVA!!

Debate Success!

Everyone did a wonderful job presenting their side of the debate.  Students have spent the week researching their topics and working with their team to present evidence and facts to support their argument.  They spend part of the time rehearsing: working on the sequencing of their presentation, introductions, making eye contacting, annunciation, and speaking loudly.

Topic: Is having a small dog, like a tea cup poodle, as class pet a good idea?

The Pro Team: Ethan, Angelene, Joyce, Addie, Isabella
The Con Team: Jonna, Sophia, Ashley, Eva, Brady
The Alternative Team: Mary Kate, Conor, JT, Cadence, Jake

The judges were complimentary of all of the students, but they were very impressed with the use of multi-media and evidence presented by the Con Team.

A special thank you to our judges: Mr. John Harper from the Bartlett Animal Shelter, Mrs. Grady, and Mrs. Borkowski.

(And thank you to Mrs. Stokes for stepping in and taking pictures -- my camera wasn't working).

Philippine Fest 2017 Volunteers Needed!
We are currently looking for volunteers to help with a Vocabulary Parade to be held during the Philippine Fest on April 22nd at St. Ann Church.

Not sure what a vocabulary parade is?  Check out this link to learn more: Vocabulary Parade Information

If you are interested in helping plan this event, please contact Marie Borkowski at Marie.Borkowski@sascolts.org to be included on the committee.

Also, students start thinking of vocabulary costumes you can create to be included in this year's parade on the 22nd!  We'd love to have all of your participate!

Mark your calendars!
