Grammar Notes: Types of sentences

 Declarative (Statement) – a sentence that tells something.

§  Begins with a capital letter.

§  Ends with a ( .).

            

Example: My dog is has pointed ears. 

Interrogative (Question) – a sentence that asks something.

§  Begins with a capital letter.

§  Ends with a ?.

 

Example: Does your dog have pointed ears?
