In Science we’re learning about parts of a plant and in Social Studies we learned about geography and natural resources, so we’re going to experiment with hydroponic gardening.
The word “hydro” is Greek (proper noun) and means water. “Ponos” means labor. Hydroponics is a way of growing plants without soil, but rather with a nutrient-rich water. We’ll be making our own nutrients from crushed egg shells.
We also discussed why some people may use hydroponics rather than traditional gardening methods. Share what you’ve learned.
In our community of learners, we help each other learn like CHAMPIONS!! There is always another way to try and a friend to help. Believe in the power of YET! We CHALLENGE our minds to CHANGE our minds. And it is ok to be still and quiet.
