Types of Sentences


Declarative (Statement) – a sentence that tells something.
§  Begins with a capital letter.
§  Ends with a ( .).
           
Interrogative (Question) – a sentence that asks something.
§  Begins with a capital letter.
§  Ends with a ?.

Exclamatory (exclamation) - expresses feelings and usually ends with an exclamation point.
§  Begins with a capital letter.
§  Ends with a !.

Imperative (command) - tells you to do something (action) and typically ends with a period.
§  Begins with a capital letter.
§  Ends with a (.).
