Opps! Even elves have trouble listening to instructions.
One of Santa’s elves (singular possessive noun) at the North Pole made a place value mistake when ordering some ping pong balls. Santa told him to order 1,000 (thousands, hundreds, tens, ones). He put way too many zeros and ordered 1,000,000!!! (millions, hundred thousands, ten thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens, ones) Now Santa needs our help finding a use for all those ping pong balls.
