We worked in teams to round numbers to the thousands place. First we labeled each digit with the correct place value (thousands, hundreds, tens, ones). Next we determined our benchmarks. Then we looked for our clue (hundreds place, which is to the right of the thousands place). Once we found our clue, we were able to figure out whether we should round up or down to the correct benchmark.
In our community of learners, we help each other learn like CHAMPIONS!! There is always another way to try and a friend to help. Believe in the power of YET! We CHALLENGE our minds to CHANGE our minds. And it is ok to be still and quiet.
