2022 Summer work for rising 3rd graders

Hello, parents and guardians of my future 3rdgrade scholars!

I'm looking forward to an adventurous, fun, and productive year of learning, one that begins with the summer work in Math and Language Arts that I have listed below. Summer work is so important because it will help alleviate the summer slide and help reinforce what Mrs. Wall has been teaching them. Then we can hit the ground running in August.

BEFORE your scholar begins this work, take some time to enjoy the summer break. Don't jump right in! Let him/her relax and recharge.

Read 'n Quiz (RQ): Your child will choose one RQ book to read this summer and complete the corresponding RQ quiz. Please have your scholar read and take the quiz independently. I'm not assigning reading levels yet, but please do not read below a 2.5 unless Mrs. Wall has your scholar assigned on a lower level.

Next, your scholar will work in SECOND gradeIXL -- not third grade, until he or she reaches a Smartscore of at least 80. If you'd like him or her to work beyond that, go for it! The more practice, the better. Feel free to have him/her workin any other 2nd grade IXL skills or content areas in which you feel he/she needs extra practice.

If your Scholar has already completed these sections, please have them redo them for the extra practice. If it's not completed over the summer, it won't show up on my report
