Movement is good for your brain!

Why do we move so much in 3rd grade? We vote with our feet, we act out vocabulary, we do fireworks, jumping jacks, we stand, we sit, and we stand again?

Scholars, movement helps you focus, wake-up, can make you happy, and so much more.

Parents:

Here's an interesting article. This can be applied at home, too. Have your scholar takes breaks when studying, doing HW, even watching tv and playing video games.

"The benefits of movement are well-documented: physical activity improves students’ focus, retention, memory consolidation, creativity and mood.  Movement breaks – from recess to a short dance party to doing standing stretches at their desks – boost students’ mental sharpness. Research finds that a single workout can improve a student’s ability to focus on a task for up to two hours. "
