Grammar Notes: Subject and Object Pronouns


Subject and Object Pronouns

SUBJECT pronoun: A pronoun that is used as the subject of the sentence.
OBJECT pronoun: A pronoun that is used AFTER an action verb
(or the object of a preposition). We haven’t learned about prepositions, but will be soon.

Subject Pronouns
I
you
he
she
it
we
they


Object Pronouns
me
you
him
her
it
us
them
 



Examples:
Subject Pronouns
They are the best class ever.
John and I are in the class.

Object Pronouns
The class was happy to see them.
The teacher called on me.
