A Manger for Jesus

Students were asked to design and build a manger for baby Jesus. They could only use twigs and twine. They were allowed to use a little glue for the legs. The manager was supposed to by no larger than 2" W x 3" L. It was a challenging task -- they definitely learned about perseverance and doing things DIFFERENTLY when you get STUCK.

Grammar Game

Students finished their Parts of Speech games and had fun playing each other's games (identifying proper, singular, and plural nouns, action and linking verbs, adjectives, articles, and conjunctions).

3rd Sunday of Advent

Reflection: How do you find a cause for joy and gladness in the modern world?

 Dear Jesus,
Help us focus on you during this busy season. May we stay aware of the joy you bring into our lives. We want to find you in the everyday moments and to come with hearts of gratitude to your manger on Christmas.  Amen.

Room at the Inn

This morning, the students put together the lunches for the men at the Ozanam Center in Mid-town. After we finished, Father Russ blessed the food during our prayer service.

Our new classroom tool

Today we used our new iPad and pen to practice our weekly bible quote in cursive. The pen was challenging to get use to, but we'll have plenty of time to practice. We also have countless apps to help us practice reading comprehension, math, spelling, science, social studies, critical thinking, and more.
