Solar Eclipse Simulation

Today we "created" a solar eclipse, observed the changes that happened (spelling word) as the moon blocked the sun, and recorded our findings.

Homework

Spelling - pre-test. In the future, I will not remind you about pre-test. They will always be the day BEFORE the actually test. The test schedule is posted on the blog each week and is written on the board.

Parent meeting tonight at 6pm.

PE tomorrow -- don't forget to bring your shoes. If you'd like, you may leave them in the closet.

English Notes: Sentences

A sentence tells a complete thought or idea.

                  

 All sentences begin with a capital letter and end with a punctuation mark.

                    

Example: The dog chased the rabbit.

                   

 An incomplete sentence is called a fragment.

Example: WRONG

The dog.

Chased the rabbit.

Because it was hungry.

Permission Slips

On Monday, August 21, 2017, the moon will pass between the earth and the sun for the first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse since 1918.  Millions of Americans in 12 states will be able to watch this solar spectacle that will turn day into night for a couple of minutes.  Tennessee is among the 12 states that have been declared to be a best place to experience this rare phenomenon.

Permission slips for the solar eclipse viewing were sent home today. Please sign and return it if you are going to allow your child to participate.
