First day of school: Tuesday, August 11th

Just a few reminders:

School starts at 8am and dismisses at 11:30am, since it’s a half day.

We will have snack, so please bring a small snack and a water bottle (make sure it does NOT leak). We are not using the public water fountains, so please don’t forgot your water bottle.

We are a PEANUT/TREE NUT FREE classroom!

Remote Learners:

Hang tight! I’m meeting with Mrs. Thomas tomorrow to work on a schedule for you all. I have a 3G Google Hangouts set up so that we can all keep in touch weekly, if not daily, depending on our schedule, but Mrs. Thomas will be your main contact during the day since I’m in class.

Google Hangouts

The main purpose for Hangouts is for remote learning.

I have sent an email invitation to your SAS student email for Google Hangouts. Please accept the invitation. I will go over the rules and procedures for Hangouts later this week.

I’m looking forward to a FANTASTIC school year! Can’t wait to see you all.

Hand sanitizer

We now have hand sanitizer stations in the classroom, so we won’t be needing the individual hand sanitizer pumps or sprays, unless you’d like your child to keep one at his or her desk for personal use.

Sunscreen

As often as possible, I will be taking the students outside for class. If we go outside, it will be for short periods of time and will most likely not be in the sun, at least while it is so hot.

Unless your child burns easily, he or she will not need sunscreen. Think about recess. We’re outside for about 20 to 25 minutes each day on the field without sunscreen. However, if you want your child to have it, please label a spray bottle and put it in a baggie. Please send a spray bottle to limit to the trips to the bathroom to wash hands.

Your child may bring a HAT to wear. Again, label the hat. He or she can leave it his/her gym bag with the sneakers.
