We worked in math centers this morning, practicing our multiplication and division facts 0 -5.

Math - work in IXL for 10 minutes. Work on division: 3, 4 or 5

Handwriting - p. 54 & 55 due. You don't have to rewrite the bible verse, only trace it. 
Science - if you didn't complete your 7 vocabulary words in class, please finish writing them in your spiral.

Linking Verbs

Linking Verbs DO NOT show action. Linking verbs connect the subject and the complete predicate (think of it like a bridge). 

Examples: any form of the infinitive TO BE (am, is was, were, has been, are being, might have been, etc) become, and seem. 

Check out the examples below: 

Gabby is a sweet girl.

Isn’t isn’t something that Gabby can do. It connects the subject (Gabby) to the predicate (is a sweet girl.)

My cats are happy napping on the couch.

Areing (which isn’t a word)  isn’t something that cats can do. Are connects the subject (My cats) to the predicate (are happy napping on the couch). 

She seems to be a happy girl.

Seems isn’t something that she can do. Seems connect the subject (she) to the predicate (seems to be a happy girl.)
