November RQ

November RQ is due Thursday, Nov. 30. Don't wait until the last minute!

Our very own science guy...Justin!

I don't teach centripetal force in 3rd grade, but this is a very cool example! WOW!

Mr. Ryan McDaniel, Senior Structural Engineer with A2H, spoke to us this morning about the engineering side of our habitat project. Mr. McDaniel worked on many of the zoo's exhibits, including Zambezi River Hippo Camp.

He showed us Memphis Zoo blueprints from the exhibits his firm worked on and talked to us about the collaboration it took to to create and build the exhibits. He also talked about the importance of math when developing the glass, wire, and poles that are part of the safety of the exhibit.

Now using the Engineering Process and information from our zoo field trip and speakers, we will be applying what they've learned in Math and Science to design and build a replica of their zoo or sanctuary habitats.
