Since December is a short month, I will not require students to read a RQ book. They can still read and test so that they can earn points, but I won't be taking a grade.
In our community of learners, we help each other learn like CHAMPIONS!! There is always another way to try and a friend to help. Believe in the power of YET! We CHALLENGE our minds to CHANGE our minds. And it is ok to be still and quiet.

Room at the Inn
We’re
so excited about a new service project, Room at the Inn. The 3rd
grade will be partnering with the 2nd grade and the St. Vincent de
Paul Society Food Mission to provide 20 lunches (sandwiches, chips, water,
fruit cup, Little Debbie, and a candy cane) for the homeless in our community
(the men will be staying at The Ozanam Center in Mid-town). Our students will
make the lunches here on Monday, Dec. 12th, and then the food will be picked up
by Mr. Bedwell (a St. Ann parishioner) and delivered to the center. Mr. Bedwell
is also the Inn Keeper for the Dec. 13th mission at the Ozanam Center.
Our
class will provide the following items for the lunch:
·
Brown lunch – the extra
large size, not the standard 13 X 7 (Dwyer family)
·
Little Debbie snack
cakes (2 per person; 40 total) (Stokes Family)
·
Individual
bags of chips (Galvez family)
·
Candy
canes (Sta Cruz family)
If
you are willing to donated one of the items above, please email me. All items will nee to be delivered by Friday, Dec. 9 so that we're set up and ready to go on Monday morning.
We
will also help with the assembly and write a note of encouragement for each
person.
For
more information about Room at the Inn, please visit their Facebook page: Room
at the Inn @ St. Ann.
Thank
you for your consideration and prayers as we serve others during this Lenten
season!
