Colts Camps 2020

We will have summer camps beginning the first week of July!!

We’re excited to have children back on our campus, but their health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. Space is very limited and social distancing will be practiced.

SAS parents will be receiving an email with more information about the camps and expectations as we promote the safety of our campers and staff. If you have questions, the contact information for each individual camp is listed at the end of the description. The registration and medical forms will also be  attached. Payment is due at the time of registration and checks should be made payable to the Camp leader, not St. Ann.

Summer work

All summer work for grades PreK-4 - 8th grade will be published on Monday, June 15th on the school website.

The Summer Slide!

Hello rising 3rd graders!

Hello, parents of a rising 3rd grader at St. Ann Catholic School!

I’m looking forward to getting to know you and your child in the 2020 - 2021 school year. I know we might be starting off in a unique situation, but I’m confident that we’ll have a productive and meaningful school year together. I’m here to support you and your child.

Below is the summer work that I’d like your child to complete. It will be graded, so please make sure your child is working during the summer. I understand it’s vacation time, and that the 4th quarter was a rough one for all of us, but the summer slide (a time when students lose knowledge) is very real. This work will also help give me an idea of where your child is in his or her learning and help me plan for the start of the year. We don’t want to waste time on skills that our students have already mastered in 2nd grade, but I also don’t want to miss an opportunity to review important foundational skills that will help your child be a successful 3rd grader.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at annmarie.ghio@sascolts.org. I check my work email daily.

Math: 2nd grade IXL
Please work on the following sections. Your child only has to work to about 86%.
H.9 Subtraction work problems - up to 2 digits
I.3. Addition — three digits
L.1. Mixed Operations
M.2. Place value up to 100
N.3 Round to the nearest 10 or 100
W.5 Identify halves, thirds, or fourths

Language Arts
Reading
Read one RQ book and take a quiz. You must get a passing grade.
If you do not pass the quiz, you can either reread the book and take the quiz again or read a new book and take another quiz. I’ll take the highest grade.

Grammar 2nd grade IXL;
PP.4   Sort common and proper nouns
VV.4. Identify Adjectives
OO.4 Is it a complete sentence or a fragment?

Again, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me and let’s talk.

Have a safe, healthy, and fun summer!

Ms. Ghio
