Our Week Honoring Blessed Mother Teresa

Blessed Mother Teresa will be canonized on Sunday, Sept. 4. In honor of her, we'll be spending this week in prayer and service.

 Five Days of Pray & Service

Monday: Day of Prayer. We learned about Mother Teresa and prayed a decade of the rosary.

Tuesday: We will begin work on our paragraph and illustration on how we can live like Mother Teresa.

Wednesday:  We will visit PDO for our service project. 3G will help the students unpack, and then we'll read to students. 

HW: bring in food donations for St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Thursday: We will collect food for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. We will also make prayers beads to pass on to someone. 

HW: bring in clothes or toys to donate.

Friday: We will collect toys/clothes for the Salvation Army. Remember what Mother Teresa taught us about giving; it is sharing. It's not just about giving what we don't want anymore; it's giving with love.

Evaporation

We checked out water to see how much water evaporated over the weekend. Based on the amount of water that had evaporated, the students made a predication that it would take 2 to 4 weeks for all of the water to evaporate.

Our Evaporation Experiment

We placed a cup of water outside this afternoon. We marked the water level, and tomorrow we'll check to see if any water has evaporated. We'll also check back on Monday to see if there is any water left in the cup.

Observing groundwater (sort of)

In science we're learning all about water. Since we can't observe groundwater, we created our own version of the earth and poured in water so that  we could see how groundwater settles below the surface.
